What is Environmental Monitoring?

During construction and demolition projects, the presence of environmental pollutants should always be expected.

Contractors are legally required to manage the impact of these levels and comply with environmental plans, permits, and other regulations.

CTS Works closely with major contractors, local authorities, developers, property owners, remediation contractors, and house builders. Our environmental monitoring services provide detection and monitoring of ground waters, soil, and air including laboratory analysis. This helps to maintain a healthy and safe environment both during and after completion of projects.

Noise monitoring

Our Environmental Monitoring Services

At CTS we offer a comprehensive range of environmental monitoring services including:

  • Noise monitoring – background and workplace
  • 3D noise simulation
  • Vibration monitoring
  • Crack monitoring
  • Asbestos monitoring and testing
  • Monitoring/sampling of water levels in boreholes, drains, tanks etc.
  • Down hole logging – remote water level monitoring with data loggers
  • Water sampling and insitu or laboratory testing from watercourses and run off water from site
  • Monitoring of non-aqueous phase hydrocarbons in groundwater monitoring wells
  • Soil sampling – surface, stockpiles, delineation of hot-spots
  • Relative humidity
  • Dust monitoring PM10, total disposable and directional
  • Gas monitoring, sampling and testing (includes laboratory analysis)
  • Factual reporting of data unless otherwise requested
  • Monitoring of inclinometers (measurement of displacements in the ground or structures)
  • Monitoring of vibrating wire piezometers (measurement of pore water pressure)
  • Wind, temperature and rainfall monitoring

3D noise simulation

As part of our environmental monitoring service, our colleagues at Silkstone Environmental use specialist noise monitoring software to produce a full 3D simulation for noise generated during site development or activity.

Results are based upon inputted variables such as frequency spectrum data for the equipment used during the site activity as well as their location.
