2017 has been a busy year for Construction Testing Solutions so far. Increasing demand for our services has seen a focussed effort to extend the scope of our UKAS accreditation and meet the compliance obligations of our customers.
Following a successful surveillance and extension visit in February, we attained flexible scope extension for our EMG lab in April. Now, we have just received confirmation that our scope has been extended again.
The extension to scope process can sometimes take several months to complete. However, on this occasion, the entire process was completed in just 4 weeks. Thanks go out to James Whitworth, Chris Cowling and Darren Swindells for their tireless efforts in securing the extension to our first test on bituminous materials – dimensional checks on drilled cores.
The scope extension is a core component of our business growth strategy as it will enable us to push forward with greater volumes of utility and highway coring works. Our customers have always known we have the technical experience to carry out the tests, now we have the accreditation to back it up.
UKAS accreditation provides contractors and end-user customers with the added peace of mind that tests are carried out in accordance with the highest standards of health, safety and quality. Not only does the use of an accredited facility allow project managers to fulfil their duty of care, it is an assurance that the works are carried out to a recognised standard.
